What a great time to be a
Dallas Cowboy fan!

Gosh, I can not remember a time when I was not a
Cowboy fan. Growing up with Roger Staubach as my
hero. It was a time of family fun when Dad and I
would sit in front of the television and watch the
game. Even on days when we could not be home, the
game was on the radio. Since I was born in 1968, I
don't remember any other quarterback other then
Roger and on. I had the wonder pleasure of seeing
Roger in person twice. Once when he came to speak
at a city revival held at our local high school stadium.
The second time was when he spoke to a group of
Christian teens at a youth rally that was help in
Dallas. He not only was a wonderful player, but a
good man as well.

After a few bad years, the Cowboys got the number one draft choice, a young quarterback right out of UCLA, Troy AIkman. That first season was rough 1-15. Troy fought for that first string position. Even though many people thought he was the wrong choice, I knew he was the right one. I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my dad that year and telling him that Troy was the one to watch. He would lead the Cowboys to great days ahead.

I admire Troy. Not only for the way he plays ball on the field, and not just for the way he seems to be able to lead the other players. I admire him for the person that he is off the field, and away from the cameras. Troy is a wonderful role model for our young people today. As a single mom, it worries me the way the kids of today look up these sports stars, especially with what many of them represent. Troy on the other hand is the kind of person I do not mind my son looking up to.

Away from the cameras Troy is a big supporter of children. He supports the United Way. In 1992, he established the Troy Aikman Foundation. This foundation helps to benefit disadvantaged children. He has funded Aikman's End Zones in children's hospitals. These are area's for children to play and learn through toys and technology during often extended stays in the hospital. He along with other Cowboys visit children in hospitals on a regular basis. All of this away from the media and lights and cameras. What a wonderful way to use what God has graced him with.

Game 1

Victory over Redskin's 41-35

What a great way to start the season!!! A 41-35 victory over the Redskins in overtime. The series that lead to the touchdown that tied the game was beautiful. It was played with the precision, and grace from the Cowboys we know and love. No Superbowl game could have been better. Sitting at the edge of my seat, screaming and pulling my hair out.

The defense needs some work. With key players out, right now the defense seems a little weak. But the season is young, and we have a way to go. I have full confidence in Chan to correct the problems and lead us to a great season.

Dallas Defense Help Give Cowboys 24-7 Win Over Falcons

Cowboy's defense was much improved over last weeks game. Who knows what Chan said or did over the last week to bring about such a change.

Emmitt is doing his best to prove all of his critics wrong, by moving the ball, and having over 100 yards rushing in both of the first two games of the season. Tonight, passing Tony Dorsett in total rushing yards. This putting Emmitt in 4th place for most rushing yards in NFL history.

Troy Aikman seemed a little behind his game, not playing up to his full potential. Not anything to be worried about. Being one of the most accurate quarterbacks in NFL history he is sure to be back on track for the next game against Arizona.

Next week The Boy's have a by week. This will give them a chance to pull everything together, and continue to fix those little things that will make them the best team in the league. It will also give players a little extra time to heal any injuries. Would be great if Deon was back for that Oct. 3,1999 games.
